Pinewood Derby 2012

The annual Pinewood Derby was held tonight. Will's car looked great! There were lots of cars and lots of spectators waiting to watch the cars rush down the track! It's always a fun night! Lots of fun to watch all the boys cheer on their friends! Gabe had a cool car that went very fast! Uncle Bill came to see the races, and oohed and ahhed over Will's handiwork. Grandmama & Grandaddy came also! Thanks for all the support!

Word Study

Will was determined to learn a lot of words for his spelling bee. LEGOS went by the wayside. Reading went by the wayside. Everything but eating is taking second place to learning new words.

Tie DI Pythons

Our team challenge this year is the Improv Challenge - a difficult task for 8 & 9 year olds. The challenge involves reading newspaper articles and incorporating them into a story, so we've been getting a lot of practice with that.

Get That Car Ready!

Will and David enjoyed some time out on the deck while Will worked on his Pinewood Derby car for tomorrow's races.

Silver Award Project

The girls' scout troop is working on their Silver Award project. They've chosen to redecorate & refurnish a room at our local Ronald McDonald house. Today's visit included a tour and a major discussion about specific needs, requirements, and acceptable colors!

LEGO

David & I decided to make good use of the school holiday and took Will and Katherine to a really ginormous mall several hours away. Our purpose? To find the LEGO store and The American Girl store. The first was a good idea, the second not so much. The LEGO Store was totally awesome and worth the trip. It seems we've aged out of the other and preferred to spend time & money at clothing stores! We had a lot more fun picking out LEGOS for everyone!

Saying Goodbye, Studying, and Selling Cookies!

Morgan had help packing up so she could go back to school for her second semester! Caroline studied the day away and then all the remaining girls went out to sell Girl Scout cookies!

S'mores Before Dinner

Our house was a bit empty this weekend with two of the girls gone to YEC. We snatched Isabella and had lots of fun without them!! We ate s'mores before dinner because that's the way it worked out!!
